Default Print odd/even pages only in Acrobat 9

    Hello all,

I need to print a 36 page file duplex. My printer is on it's last leg and won't duplex so I need to print all odd pages and then put the stack back in the printer and print all the even pages.

My question is that when I select print "odd pages only", it only prints page 1 even though the print range is set to All. If I select a specific span of pages to print, e.g., pages 7-36 and select "odd pages only" then it only prints page 7. I've used almost every version of Acrobat in the past and have never encountered this problem before. Does anyone have any thoughts?

The only thing that has changed in my workflow is the upgrade to Acrobat 9.

    Thanks,
    Reetz

have you ever tried printing something with this many pages? does it have alot of images? could it be a memory issue at the printer?

    Hi Oxburger,

I do print this many pages all the time. The form has no images and the copy is medium coverage. The file itself is 495K so I don't think it's a memory issue.

I was fooling around with it over the last couple days and found that if I change to printer properties to print directly to the printer rather than spool the job, it works but since it's a network printer, once I select this option, no one else connected to the server can print so it's only a temporary fix. I'm starting to think I need a new/different driver? Do you have any thoughts on this?

    Thank you for replying,
    Reetz

I've been having the same problem on my home network. I used to be able to print to my wife's computer, then I got a new computer (that still runs XP) and moved the location of the printer in the office. I was able to reboot my wifes computer and print a page, but somehow during that same session of having both computers on, lost the ability to print at all. I've reinstalled drivers, deleted and added the printer back in, but no luck. I think I'm going to buy a USB switch (for about $30) that I can plug both USB cables into, and then into the printer) and it will detect when data is coming from either and print accordingly. The only drawback is that we won't be able to print at the exact same time. It's frustrating to say the least.
