Automation Possibilities.

Hi,

Looking for a way to automate some tasks with received PDFs. Part of the process is to fix the PDFs before we can print them. Each PDF contains multiple customised pages (slighty larger than A4), except for one or 2 which contain an A3 sized image, which has been reduced to the same size as the other pages (don't ask). All the pages are in color, but they only want the front and back to be color and the rest in B&W.

So, my question is.... what is the best way to automate the processing of these PDFs, so :-

1. We can extract/crop the A3 page on to 2 A4 sized pages

2. To make all of the pages other than the front & back to grayscale.

3. Scale all of the pages to fit A4 size.

Can this be done via scripting in Adobe Arcobat Pro or is there an application today can do this for us or maybe a combination of the 2? Cause at the moment, it takes too much time, when you receive multiple no. of these files.
