Why do you upgrade your Operating System?

I upgrade my OS to have just what is needed: only when I change the computer or when the softwares need a more recent version. Actually XPress7 and the CS3 need OS 10.4.11, and I have 10.4.11... no more.

Why do you upgrade your Adobe software?

I upgrade my softs to have just what is needed:
- I have a CS3 because today the highest files sent by customers are .inx from InDesign CS4,
- and I have XPress 7 because Xpress 8 can output XPress 7 files.

Why do you not upgrade your RIP?

I upgrade my RIPs to have just what is needed: CS3 and XPress 7 need a PostScript level 3 RIP, and I have PostScript level 3 RIPs...


Before the CS3 I had InDesign CS1 and XPress6 with:
- one RIP level 2, enough for native ID CS1 and XPress 6 native files
- and one RIP level 3, needed to image PDFs...

... and before PDF, I had 2 level 2 RIPs: I always upgrade when it is needed!
