hardware for Fuji CTP (XMF)
Hi all,
we will be installing XMF soon and are wondering:
is there anybody else out there using XMF currently and if so, what hardware are you using for the RIP and the client(s)? We are conscious of the processing and storage requirements, but not sure if this is needed on the server only or on the clients as well.
Any help is welcome (with detail down to drive speed and network connections).
Thanks

XMF installation
First thing, your supplier should be able to give you all requirements.
The hardware requirements are dependend of your workvolume. The XMF can be installed with 1 box (pc) or (with extra licences) with more boxes (pc's), what is called a multibox configuration. So best is to discuss this with your supplier.
Normally it is installed on a server with windows 2003 Standard Edition.
You can choose to have a Raid configuration with Raid 0 or 5. All depends of the data security you want.
For the client on mac, at least you got to have mac 10.4 installed or later. XP is normal for PC's. Because the clients logs in into the Rip Server, all data stays on the Server.
XMF is normaly for 1Gbit networks.
For further information, please contact your dealer. Succes!
