    Default Used CTP or New

We are getting a new system for our shop and are considering going used instead of new.

Used we would buy a used Fuji Dart.
New would be the Kodak Magnus with quantum upgrade and square spot.

We would be running some sort of "Chem free" plate.

    Any suggestions on these systems?

We just purchased the Screen PlateRite 4300, same as a Dart, and are running it with the PressTek chem free plate There were a few start up issues that we had to work out, but now we seem to be running smooth. We looked at other chem free plates, but we choose not to go with the process on press option, pressmen were very reluctant. We almost bought the Kodak machine, branded as a PressTek machine, but the PlateRite/Dart has a great reputation and they made us a great deal.

Have a used 3244 and Kodak Thermal Direct plates.
Work great! Saved roughly $80k over buying a "remaned" unit from Kodak, and used my consumable dollars to buy a new RIP, basically free.
I can recommend a dealer in the North East/Mid-West. PM me if interested.
