New batch of violet plates

LP82. No Developer brushes? ok so I'm not familiar with that particular processor.

Can you give an example of the batch numbers as I experienced them they represented the production lines /times/dates of the plates rather than thickness.

Do you store the Plates in any way? I know we had batch issues with N91 !!

Has their plate specialist been to see you? was he part of the team which said the plate was Ok?

Do you do any press maintenance? Check the dates of the press maintenance against the occurance of plate Blinding.

Has there been any other changes in press chemicals since the issue began?

Well we had several plate specialists from Agfa, on said it was a worn press....... well one press is 10 years old and the other is 1 year old. Hmmmm strange.....

The other said it was our punch bender..... the plates were to long , then he said no it's a blanket problem.... Then we went to a press in belgium, they were going to print a 120.000 production on our plates to show us the plates are ok... well after 60.000 the first plates started to blind.

Then a 3rd specialist told me to make 2 plates every morning and evening on both machines and send them so Agfa HQ. The recieved 1 pakkage of 1 week. The rest disappeared. No feedback from agfa about this also. Then we had to put fresh chemistry in the machines every monday morning, at a certain point we had to change the chemistry every morning. Nothing helped.

Now they send us testplates of different alu types. Also no change.

Our presses are up to date on maintanance, blankets etc... We had all the technicians from Flint, Solco, Reeves, Goss, Ifra..... you name it.
So we are at a point of switching to Kodak. Even if we would find a problem here on our site the relation with Agfa is highly disturbed because of their attitude towords us.
I hope more people can recognise this.....

You saying nothing new, in my own experience here I feel for you with sympathy!!!

I'm independent and trained on Krause too but have no allegiances.

I will contact people I know who use LAPV to see if they have had any similar experiences.

have you tried Fuji?

No we haven't. But if we decide to quit with agfa we will switch to Kodak. That's for sure.

Please contact some people who work with Lap-v, that would be great.

I wouldn't rule out Fuji in trials, they performed pretty well against Kodak in trials.

If the Developer (gum/rinse is less sensitive to T) was frozen during the transportation, you can get such a kind of issue, and the same for plates.
