Check the service in your area, drop all the tech garbon and the machines are close. We all know people make the differance in business. Don't just look at the box look at everything that goes on behind it and around it. Ask about Free Flow products these are Xerox only tools that support all areas of you production not just the imaging.

From my experiance xerox toner will pick up paper traits like litho i.e glossy print on glossy paper, a more matt look on matt stock. KM is matt.
    Period.

OK, I wasn't going to bite, but this old zombie of a myth doesn't ever seem to die (good job Xerox!).

On gloss paper a 6501 produces a pretty nice level of gloss on the printed area, on silk slightly less, on matt it's nearly matt. That's pretty close to what printers who are used to litho output expect and want. The 6501 does struggle in my experience with producing the same gloss levels on heavy card stock. There's an option to improve the gloss in the RIP, but this slows the engine down even more, so we certainly never turn it on.

If you're getting different results then either you don't know how to drive the machine or it's broken. If you want a sample from an actual printer who knows what they're doing (my operator, not me), then here's a no BS offer: make a £25 donation to a children's charity of your choice and I'll mail you a sample from an actual customer file (assuming the 6501 is still here then).

Xerox really need to update their "knock the competition" document. Believe me, there are enough faults without making them up!

    Hi,

We are leasing a Xerox colour 700 too, I used to run a xerox 240 for four years, we have no complain about it , I went to xerox shaw room in vancouver to see the features and printing quality of this machine it is a good machine. you printing volume colour printing should be between 10,0000 to 20,000 a month to cover the cost of the lease. we have an offer of about $1500 CD. per month to lease this machine for a priod of 60 month, I wonder where you are and may I ask you at what price you are buying or leasing this machine. I can tell you for sure you can not compare this machine with minolta.if you have more information about this machine please send me.

    Thanks

    Moe
