Guys i urge you too hold off and look at the new Canon C9075Pro which is due to hit the market shortly in Australia. Should be only a month or 2 away. It is getting good reports from the US. Worse case is you get more bargaining power on the X700 once the competition is launched.

I am also looking to get a Xerox 700 and having a rep in Adelaide come and visit us. Will be interesting to see what price they offer. At least it gives me an idea on the costs for renting or leasing if available.

Does anyone know a printer that can also print poster size like an A5? I notice most of these go up to A4 only.

Also we have a office and a warehouse. I take it from reading these posts that I cant put the machine in the warehouse and that it needs to be air conditioned?

    Thanks for the help guys.

    Hi Nano,

I think you meant A3 size posters. A5 size is smaller than A4 size.

The Xerox 700 can print A3 size posters and a little larger than A3 size. The largest size possible from a Xerox 700 is about 13 inches X 19 inches.

And the Xerox 700 are also very much like us. They do need air-conditioning.

How I wish these laser machines can output A2 size posters. Unfortunately, you will need a wide-format inkjet printer for that. Xerox do resell Epson inkjet printers.

Nano, Have a look at the Canon 9075 and team it with an imagePROGRAF iPF510 or 5100 A2 printer. You cant go wrong with that.

My Aussie quote is a bit over 170K - that's with the 2 high capacity drawers, folder option, booklet option, D-finished, trimmer and freeflow server. Click count 8c (colour) and 1.25c (mono).

This is a little steep, so the haggling will begin shortly. The 700 seems to be the way to go for those of us getting into the digital colour arena, and I've had great experience with Xerox.

Shane you are getting ripped off (where are you based in Australia). The Xerox can be had far cheaper and the new Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE PRO models which compete and are better in many ways are much cheaper. The FX does not have Real-Time Adjustments Density patches iTB where the Canon does meaning more consistency from sheet to sheet. No Shading correction on the FX either.

Here is what BERTL said about the 2. Canon exhibited significantly less image drift over time than
the Xerox on both coated and uncoated papers. Source: BLI Test Report

The Canon's look very good if being run by a good skilled operator.

Many thanks for the info. I had checked out the Canon imageRUNNER C9075 - but have not had a demo here in Sydney.

I would like to push the price of the Xerox down, as it's too high (even with all the add-ons except for the high capacity finisher). Although I'll find that BLI test report and have a read.
