I have been involved in label sales for over 15 years.
Right now I want to jump to became a pre-press operator.
What skills should I try to develop and learn?

Develop a high tolerance for stupid people. Because you're going to meet a lot of them.

Other skills: General sys admin, Windows server, Apple Desktop. Imposition knowledge (Preps). Good knowledge of color theory. Understanding of PDF.

    That will get you started.

    Default prepress

    Hi,

You should have a look at the prepress operator job description in order to see which abilities are requested. What the above post is saying is mandatory .
