Smart Names Filemaker 6 and ODBC

Has anyone tried connecting Backstage with a Filemaker 6 database using ODBC?

I'm interested in using the Smart Names function, but the data I need is in Filemaker Pro 6. Is it even possible?

i set up backstage to make database queries to filemaker 8 server, would imagine that it would be much the same going to version 6. works well, the smartnames take a moment to load, but worth the wait!

We've got this working in FMPro 6... let me know if you still need help with it.
