Default Trapping Issues with Metallic Jobs

My customer provided me a hi-res pdf that was to print 5/2 (CMYK and Metallic 872 / K and Metallic 872). After running the file through the Nexus Workflow it appeared to have trapped, although some of the Metallic over-printed for whatever reason, but when it was put on press (SM52) it was as if it hadn't been trapped. I applied a stoke to the metallic and that didn't do anything either. Have any of you experienced this? Could our Magnus 400 be over ridding a setting?

    Default trapped

How does it "appeared to have trapped"? Do you see it in bitmap preview of plate or in a preripped file? If it is there on the bitmap preview and not on the plate that would be a quite the override!

What version of Nexus are you using? What type of workflow did you use to trap the file?
What software were you using to view to see the trap?

We are using Nexus 9.0.2. The Hi-Res PDF was dropped into the Nexus Hotfolders (input_spot) and was viewed in Neo 2.1.1...

After running the PDF through the Nexus work flow I opened it in Neo and it shows the trapping, also viewing it in Acrobat with the Output Preview window open you can see the trap!

I'm taking that this was trapped in PDF trapper.

Are you using librarian Colors both in the trapper and for NEO?
If so is it central based?

    yes, trapped in PDF trapper.
Not sure what you mean by using librarian Colors both in the trapper and for NEO?
If so is it central based?

Librarian is a database utility that comes with nexus. You can find the application in the nexus manager folder. It allows you to define inks as Technical and then have Neo and the PDF trapper treat these separations differently. You can also set up custom trapping rules in Librarian that the PDF trapper will acknowledge.

P.S. I think you can find documentation for librarian on the download center.
