    Default VMware with Esko install

Anyone have experience running VMware on a newer build of OSX like 10.5.7 or 10.6.2? We have PackEdge and Backstage running in XP with a fairly large network. Trying to make the transition to one workstation for each operator and eliminate the PCs but still having a lot of issues with the build of VMware. 2.0.5 seems to work but with some issues you need to dance around. Any version later than that (3.0) Basically doesn't work. Support is pretty thin from them. Any experience with other software in a production environment for virtualization running EskoArtwork software would help as well. Thanks

Sorry I don't. But here is a idea. What about checking with eskoartwork to see if you can trade in your packedge for artpro's? They are the same functionality except artpro runs on Mac.

    Just a thought.

    Default virtual machine

I have two imacs running parallels. Packedge, FastImpose, BitMap viewer and Backstage Pilot all perform as expected.

As with many virtual machines performance may be somewhat less than in native environment. I think the key to reasonable expectations is starting with a robust machine knowing that a resources will be used for both environments. Our imacs have 4gb ram. Most users still use windows boxes for Esko.

I was running Parallels on an IMac as well with Packedge,Backstage, PLato, etc, and everything was perfect, dont need any special seeting or weird plugin. I was running Illustrator and Photoshop in MAC and then using the parallels shared folder to put the .ct and .epf files to open in Packedge. I think is the best to do.
