    Default Envelope Press Alternative

As I stated in another post, we are not happy with our Xante Production Press and are looking for an alternative. Any suggestions on a machine that will do envelopes, maybe light cover?

Have you looked at the PSI Laser Mail system.
you could look at #1 Network for a dealer.
If you go to Material Handling Automation| Pack Station| Laser Envelope Printers that have info to help explain their product.

    We represent them in Canada.

Stay away from PSI - worst support ever. Waited 3 weeks for a reply to an issue only to hear that they had no recollection of the 20 minute conversation I had with them. Feeder runs when it wants to, which isn't often. You will also be locked into their proprietary toner at a 30-40% premium.

Just get an off the shelf Okidata 9650.

    Default Riso

The Riso technology and similar (Richo) use water based inks. Want to see an irate customer with ink on his fingers? - go Riso.

    Default Color Envelope Printer

    Hello everyone,

First of all, I will disclose to all of you that I work for Intec—but I have previously worked for Xanté as a product specialist and field engineer for the last 8 years. I have had experience with both the Xanté and PSI envelope units and hope that you will include our new Intec model in your search for the best envelope printer for your needs and budget.

Please check out the Intec product line, we have a number of new product developments being released in the next few months—including a envelope CP2020 model that can be purchased with or without a RIP option. Currently our distribution is primarily in the European markets but we will be expanding distribution into the Americas and Asia later this year.

As a sidenote, if you, or anyone you know, are interested in being a distributor of our Intec units, please contact us or send me a message.

    Thank you,

Sorry it;s taken so long to respond to the question of what is wrong with our Xante. There are several reasons, first of all the overall quality on different stocks is not very good. You are limited to what it will actually print on such as linens, laids etc... Secondly, their tech support was less than stellar as we tried to work out different problems with the machine. Thirdly, if it will only print envelopes, and not a wide selection, then the price of the machine is ridiculous as you can purchase a Oki 9650, basically the same thing, for a lot less and not be tied into their proprietary toners which cost a fortune. If you are going to pay $17,000 for a digital envelope press, (copy machine) then it had better run alot more stock than just envelopes to make it pay. And fourth, their envelope feeder leaves a lot to be desired.

    Hello all,
I operate a print for pay shop in Ohio and currently use a Bizhub 6500. I'm looking for another machine so that we're not dead in the water when the Konica goes down and also I'd like to do envelopes. Your posts about Xante and Riso of course raise flags about them and I'd like to know more about the Oki..........how is it going now?
    Thanks,
