Furnished XML file from Customer
We have a customer that wants to furnish XML files to us for print. What is the best way to convert to PDF so I can print them?

XML is a WAY of describing something, not somethign exact. Ask them "XML for what"? Or more specifically, what XML GRAMMAR are they sending you?
In other words, XML can be something as simple as "raw database information" or as complex as "OpenOffice" or SVG.

1) Get the style sheet from your customer, 2) strip document of xml tags 3) create as per style sheet
4)save as PDF.
If you want help, click Online Document Conversion send them an email with a sample page
ask for quote ( if you can nego 35-50 cents per thousand characters, its cool )

Lyndajohn21, you're making this really complex.
If you're using InDesign, as an example, you can use the XML tools built into the application to MAP the XML to specific style sheets that you've set up. Stripping the XML codes will mean that you have to manually go through the document and figure out what's what. Mapping will ensure that ALL the XML gets properly used. Your method might work if it's a simple ad or single page document. If it's a long document, this would just be inviting trouble.
As Leonard pointed out, XML is NOT style, it is document structure. However, structure can easily be converted to style.
