    Default Press-Sense Bankrupt?

Client called me today in a panic. He implemented iWay from Press-Sense last year and just heard that they might be going out of business. He heard they pulled all their US staff back to Israel, let go of top management, and are now maybe going to be sold off to cover debts!

Saw this article over on WTT:
Officer of the court appointed to direct Press-sense forward after two major investors pull out - Printing Industry News from WhatTheyThink

Anyone know what's going on here? My client is currently talking to other W2P vendors to move to another system anyway, but it would be good to know any additional details about the future of Press-Sense as a company?

We just heard the news too. Shame to see a good company run into trouble but it really drives home the importance of securing a strong vendor. There are a lot of good W2P apps out there and PressWise is certainly one of them. I hope your client considers this option.

I am not suprised. A couple of months ago I tried to contact someone at Press-Sense five times to demo me their product, but no one ever returned my call. I kinda suspected if the company wasn't in trouble that they would be in the future when they don't even try to sell their own product.

Exclamation Press-Sense pulls out US folks to Israel -> False.

    Greetings,

I work as a support technician for an OEM of iWay on a daily basis. I can definitely vouch that the support people are still in New Jersey as of this morning (monday 12th march).
As of now, for us, it is business as usual in terms of support.

We have not heard anything at all concerning anything else.
I personally hope we'll just buy them

    Sincerely,

    Duncan Idaho

If it's true, it's a shame, but I believe there will be more of this.

If companies like Press Sense would scale back their prices, they could more than make up for it with volume. Look at how many great web-based business tools (ie Basecamp, Salesforce, Constant Contact) are available for prices that are a fraction of what some of these W2P vendors charge. Granted, those tools are for larger markets, but they've all recognized that making it easier and cheaper for clients to get started is a win-win for everyone involved.

I looked at iWay a few years back, and as much as I liked it, there was no way I'd ever get management to spring for it, and I'm sure we're not the only smaller company in this situation.

Default Low Cost fully integrated W2P

    Neckbone,

There are a number of options available for companies looking to ease themselves into W2P without breaking the bank. We are currently offering a package solution that has W2P with workflow that is available with no upfront costs and only a small monthly charge with no long term commitments. You truly have nothing to lose!

    Default Trolls - I don't think so!

It is a fine line that we vendors walk, sort of damned if do or don't. I know that all of us vendors try our best to provide beneficial and worthwhile help to the forum. Times are difficult at best and we all have to pay the bills. Certainly we appreciate the support of forum members, I think it is safe to say that we ALL would be out of business where it not for ALL of us working together.

The quality of the postings on this forum far exceed most any forum I've seen, everything is on topic and relevant. I will continue to do my best to provide the best info I can, and I look forward to the same from you.

Sorry, David, I'm a vendor but I'm siding with DuncanIdaho. Blatant advertising has no place on this or any other forum. Yes, "times are difficult and we all have to pay the bills," but what does that have to do with anything?

Members come here for guidance and to get problems solved and questions answered. I doubt that they care whether the advice comes from another printer or a consultant or a vendor. But the question hotgfx asked was "Is Press-Sense Bankrupt?" If you reread your post, where is the relevance?

I agree when you praise the quality and value of the PrintPlanet forum. As a former print shop owner and current software vendor, with forty years in the industry, I'm glad I can still contribute. I enjoy the privilege. From one vendor to another: Please, let's keep it that way!
