Epson 9000 and OS X

Has anyone successfully printed from OS X (10.4 or 10.5) to the Epson Stylus Pro 9000 using the GIMP drivers?

The file goes to send and then pauses the printer after it processes. I can get the PC and OS 9 machines to work just fine.

Any ideas?

I've printed it that way about a year ago, through the Belkin usb-to-parallel adaptor. I was going to keep using it for el-cheapo plain paper prints for student work, but our 9000 has so many clogged nozzles that it wasn't worth messing with much since we have a 9880. If you're going through the fiery that came with it, though, my understanding is that it won't work. The GIMP drivers are just for connecting directly to the print engine.
