Epson 9800 shuts down during startup.

I have an epson 9800. It recently started shutting down during the start up. Basically it will get about 20 seconds into start up and then just shut off. It wont come back on again until i manually roatate the gear at the end of the print head. Anyone have any idea what would cause this?

Contact your local Epson engineer.
It appears that one of the sensors detecting positions of various gears is faulty, and it cannot reset to "home" location.
