    Are J75's still worth buying?

This used to happen to our former Konica like clockwork. I found out the tech had DROPPED the fuser unit before I was here. Then I fought with the service manager for another year to get the entire fuser unit replaced instead of playing games. Big reason why I’m not a KM customer anymore.

    Are J75's still worth buying?

I don’t think anyone is questioning a spare printer, but would the proposed J75 not be susceptible to the same environmental variables that your technician claims are the issue (I don’t know exactly your environment but I’ve heard all the excuses by techs…check the customer expectations...

    Pantone in the future

My experience certainly isn’t reflective of everyone’s, but it seems like when the pantone libraries disintegrated from Adobe cloud, our customers did not choose to subscribe to Pantone connect - they just quit calling out PMS spot colors in their files. It’s not been a problem for us. I have...

Ink Jet Printer for larger envelopes (9x12)

I’d also be curious about the issue with just using the Ricoh. I do short run envelopes on ours all the time, it runs fine and looks good.

Ricoh c7500 after 8 years of using a xerox versant 2100

This has been my experience also, took in a 7210x after having a KM. At my previous employer we were all Xerox so very familiar with that world as well. Over 2 million clicks in I’m still very confident I made the right choice. Love the versatility, reliability, color and registration...

Hard Color Proof Workflow - Do you have the Customer Send the proof back signed these days?

Very few of our customers request a hard proof, but when they do we just keep one behind. Used to get signed proofs but these days that’s a formality we don’t normally require.

    Are J75's still worth buying?

According to my records, about once a month.

    Are J75's still worth buying?

Just over 2 years. Replaced a single KM machine.

    Are J75's still worth buying?

I do on a Ricoh 7210…it’s our only sheet fed printer. Mostly 19x13 sheets.

    Are J75's still worth buying?

Side question but if short run stickers are a lot of your business, is that even a good application for this machine? We do most of these on a Roland wide format printer (RF 640 to be exact). Not sure what you’re expecting to pay on a J75 (imho they were okay but not very dependable, when...

Need help optimizing jobs with tabs and mixed media and mixed colors on Ricoh C9500

Printing on Mixed media weights will do that. On my machine I will preprint inserts, then collate them into the job using the post fuser trays. Also setting the paper weights as similar as possible should help.

Digital Printer for an art school

I agree, set aside some sample files and your preferred media and go from there.

    Konica Minolta IQ-501 worth it?

When it works, it works well. We had a KM6085 with this and it’s really a flawed design - has a few sensors that you need to periodically clean - with a stick - which only serves to push the dust around, requiring the technician to regularly take the whole thing apart to clean it. In theory...

    Ricoh 9210 Registration Snafus

I have a 7210 but assume some things are similar. 1. Always make sure you clean the inline scanner before running the routine. 2. Per each profile, set the registration function for HIGH QUALITY under advanced settings, this requires 35 sheets. 3. I assume you’re doing this, but make...

Methods for reducing static on Duplo 646

I used to have problems with this. One factor was getting rid of our km 6085, as everything off that had a lot of static. But I have a cheat sheet of settings I use every time I have text weight and I don’t have many issues anymore.

Konica Minolta and FujiFilm exploring a "strategic alliance"

If I had to guess, this seems like Fuji being (understandably) reluctant to invest heavily in their own team of techs and support network, and probably plan to let KM shoulder that work. Yes I have seen job postings for Fuji techs and such but have to assume unless there are a lot of these Fuji...

Review of Challenge Champion 305TC Cutter

I’ve seen two people smash their finger tips (fortunately that’s as bad as it got!) in the cutter clamp, so I recognize the need for safety measures!

Swapping out year old KM7090 for Ricoh 7500

I surveyed various trade partners in town before switching to Ricoh. I also had a list of references from Ricoh I reached out to (which of course I took with a grain of salt, that’s why I talked to our partners). I found people echoing my sentiment and experiences with KM unsolicited and...
